Tuesday is Election Day!

Tomorrow (Tuesday, November 3rd) is the last day you can cast your ballot in the 2026 Midterm Election. At stake is control of the U.S. House and Senate, as well as Governorships and state legislative seats across the country. If you've waited until Election Day to vote, remember that you must vote at your assigned precinct. Tuesday is also the last day to return your vote-by-mail ballot. All mail-in ballots must be returned to the Supervisor of Elections Office, 105 E. Monroe Street in downtown Jacksonville, by 7 p.m. on Election Day. You can have a friend or family member return your mail-in ballot if you can't go downtown yourself. Some Election Day pointers:

  • Have questions about candidates or down-ballot races and issues? Don't forget the BAM Election Guide!

  • Check your voter status before you go to the polls. If you are listed as a registered voter, you are eligible to vote.

  • If you experience any problems at the polls confirming your registration, do not simply leave the polling site. Ask to complete a provisional ballot.

  • If you are in line by 7 p.m. on Tuesday, you must be allowed to vote regardless of the size of the line. Do not leave the line or go home until you vote!

  • If you experience or witness difficulties with voting or any voter suppression activities, immediately notify the Election Protection Hotline (866-687-8683). Local volunteers are available to investigate, provide assistance, and resolve issues.

  • Contact the Duval Supervisor of Elections Office (904-255-VOTE (8683)) if you have any questions about voting. They are the best source of information!

  • And, after the votes are counted, join us next week for the November 12th BAM Meeting with special guest Jax City Council Member Jimmy Peluso, as we debrief on the election outcome and what it means for 2027 and beyond. See below for the RSVP link.

Jax Early Voting Tops 230,000!

More than 232,400 people cast ballots in Jacksonville by the end of Early Voting on Sunday! This is a 19 percent increase (+34,474) in turnout compared with the 2022 midterms. DEMS lead Republicans by 26,734 votes, although GOP voters have historically turned out in large numbers on Election Day.  Overall turnout, including mail-in and Early Voting, is 35.5%, just under statewide turnout of 39%, according to the Duval Supervisor of Elections Office.

Thanks to all the No Kings partner organizations who contributed to this record turnout! These groups adopted 15 of the 24 Early Voting sites in Jax and hosted sign-waving, marches to the polls, rallies, and other Get-Out-The-Vote activities during the 13 days of

early voting: Harriet Tubman Freedom Fighters, Northside Coalition, Coalition of Black Trade Unionists, NAACP, Indivisible Mandarin, Indivisible Jax Riverside, Democratic Socialists of America, Democratic Women's Information Network (DWIN), Indivisible Southside, North Florida Central Labor Council, Indivisible Jax Springfield, the Neptune Beach Coalition, Jax NOW, and BAM. It was an amazing effort!

Special thanks to all the BAM volunteers and partners who helped with Get-Out-The-Vote activities at the Beaches and Pablo Creek Libraries --- our two adopted sites!

What Happens Next: Protecting the Vote

In response to continuing threats by the Trump administration impugning the integrity of the vote, the BAM Board has adopted a plan for addressing post-election threats, challenges, and efforts to undermine the outcome of the 2026 mid-term elections. We are committed to the peaceful defense of democratic institutions and certified election outcomes by countering misinformation and responding, if needed, to calls for mass mobilization by credible state and national election protection groups.

All action taken by BAM will be in response to a direct activation request by the Florida Defending Democracy Coalition, led by Common Cause, All Voting is Local and Florida for All, and/or the national Election Defense Mobilization Coalition that includes Indivisible.

Please note that this Action Alert is one of the primary means we will use to communicate with you on potential threats and planned responses. You may receive multiple alerts following the election if the need arises. Please open these emails and share them with your networks of friends and family. Commit to helping us protect the vote!

Tell the School Board: No Guns on School Grounds

The Duval County School Board is currently considering a policy change that would allow guns in vehicles on school grounds. The vote could come as soon as next week. This is a serious school safety decision, and the voices of families, educators, and school employees deserve to be heard.

Join Families for Strong Public Schools, concerned parents, and community members at the November 9 School Board meeting at 6 PM to speak out! We need to make it clear: Keep guns OFF our school grounds. Sign up to speak here.

Can't attend? You can still make your voice heard by emailing the School Board using this one-click form created by Families for Strong Public Schools!

Our schools should be safe places for students and staff. Let's keep them that way.

Help Our Neighbors During the Holidays

  • The Neptune Beach Coalition, BAM and other partners will be collecting gently used sweaters, jackets and blankets for the Mr. Roger's Neighborhood Annual Sweater Drive at the Saturday morning protest outside the Beaches Library during the month of November. Please check your closets and drop off your donation! We are there every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

  • The Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry (BEAM) is once again soliciting groups and individuals to donate Thanksgiving baskets for families facing economic challenges and food insecurity at the Beach. BAM is participating and encourages you to do the same. Click here to donate a basket and share this link with anyone you know who is in need.  Baskets will be collected November 16 -18, 8:30 –11 a.m. & 4 –5:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Father Murphy Hall, 628 1st Ave N.

Halloween Sign-Waving at Beaches Library

We had a scary good time sign-waving on Halloween with the Neptune Beach Coalition at the Beaches Library! It was a great way to kick off the last weekend of Early Voting in Jax. We enjoyed Halloweinies and lots of other yummy treats!  Thanks to everyone who came out to urge our fellow beachfolks to vote!  We'll be back on Tuesday, Election Day!
