About BAM

Beaches Activists Movement (BAM) is a progressive grassroots group of more than 500 based in Atlantic Beach, Florida.  We believe a healthy democracy requires educated and engaged citizens, fair elections, a functioning and credible free press, and honest and responsive elected officials.

To educate ourselves on the issues and individuals shaping our world, BAM meets at least quarterlyThursday evening of each month. While most meetings are held at the Adele Grage Community Center in Atlantic Beach (716 Ocean Blvd.), we sometimes join forces with other organizations or invite speakers from outside our area and host those meetings online via Zoom. Video of those Zoom meetings is available on BAM'S Youtube channel.

We also take action to support our values of justice, equality, compassion, & integrity. On our own and often in partnership with other progressive groups we register new voters and help existing voters sign up for Vote-by-Mail. We also work to ensure our neighbors are well-informed and motivated to take part in local, state and national elections by canvassing, phone- and text-banking, postcarding & writing Letters to the Editor. And we take our concerns directly to our elected officials via phone calls, emails, and personal visits.

Our membership is drawn primarily from the beach communities of Atlantic, Neptune, and Jacksonville Beach, but all are welcome. BAM's meetings and activities are open to everyone - members and non-members alike. To stay up-to-date on BAM's full range of activities and meet like-minded neighbors, join our free email list and help us work for change.
