Stop the War, Voter Suppression & AG Nominee

Trump is ramping up pressure on the U.S. Senate to agree to the budget framework passed by the House last week, which provides $87 billion in additional support for his illegal war in Iran and incorporates key pieces of the SAVE Act, potentially disenfranchising millions of voters. The framework lays the groundwork for yet another budget reconciliation bill that can be passed by a simple majority vote, avoiding a filibuster. We need to make sure it is stopped before the August recess.
Meanwhile, Trump continues to defy Congress's bipartisan War Powers resolutions by resuming bombing in Iran following a failed ceasefire. His attempts to whitewash this already unpopular war now focus on suppressing casualty numbers -- dishonoring the four service members tragically killed last weekend by removing them from the official death toll for the war, and favorably comparing casualties in his illegal war to wars under his predecessors.
A vote on the nomination of Todd Blanche as U.S.Attorney General is also expected in the Senate this week after GOP no-shows on the Senate Judiciary Committee caused a one-week postponement of the vote. Blanche has amply demonstrated his loyalty to the President -- he handled the incomplete, bungled release of the Epstein files -- and his appointment will further politicize the Justice Department. Let our elected officials know we are still paying attention! The war is illegal, the SAVE Act is unjust, and Blanche is unfit!
Call or email FL Senators Rick Scott and Ashley Moody this week. Demand that they oppose Budget Reconciliation 3.0. Reach them through the Capitol switchboard (202.224.3121) or click on their names to send an email. Use this script from 5 Calls to make the case.
Make sure you also let Scott & Moody know that you oppose Todd Blanche's appointment as Attorney General and expect them to do the same. We need an attorney general who will act in the country's best interest, not Trump's.
And while you have them on the line, tell them we expect US service members to be recognized and honored for their sacrifice, not discounted to make the casualty numbers look good.
