Victory: Within the Margin of Our Effort
The media and political pundits have run out of superlatives to describe last week's debate performance by Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris. If you missed it, here's a 60-second version courtesy of the Washington Post. From the moment she walked on the stage to her closing remarks, she was commanding and competent. She sought to unify, project optimism, and chart a course forward. On the other hand, her opponent repeatedly demonstrated why he is unfit for office. He divided, lied, vilified, and denied his culpability in assaults on our freedoms and democracy. Harris is maintaining momentum. Florida is in play. And more and more voters -- including Swifties -- are energized! Yet, polls remain inexplicably tight. Our response? Let's embrace the sage advice of political analyst Michael Podhorzer: if it's in the margin of error, it's in the margin of our effort (link below). Take advantage of the growing number of opportunities to engage in GOTV activities this week. There is something for everyone: from postcarding to phone banking, texting, and knocking on doors. Make the effort because --- with less than two months before Election Day --- it matters.

Down to the Wire: Give Local
If your inbox looks like ours, you are inundated with requests to donate to good candidates
and causes. We counted 12 emails in an hour last weekend! With less than two months before November 5th, we'd like to make the case for giving locally to organizations that will put 100% of your money into critical GOTV efforts. A donation of $25, $50 or more will buy the stamps, print the lit, and promote voter registration right here in our community. Here are some projects that need your financial support:
Build the Base: Beaches Activists Movement is implementing a campaign with its partners aimed at 19,000+ left-leaning social media users who are not registered to vote. The goal is to build the base before voter registration closes on October 7th. View the ad and click the donate button to support this important outreach effort.
Turnout the Beaches: Did you know the Beaches consistently has the highest turnout rate among Democratic voters in the county? That's due in large part to the canvassing and voter outreach efforts of the Beaches Democratic Club. Success requires a lot of leave-behind printed material and Early Voting/Election Day signage. Contribute to the Beaches Dems here.
We Need 60% to Pass Amendment 4: Jax NOW is part of a statewide postcard effort to urge key voting constituencies to get out and vote for Amendment 4 restoring access to abortion in Florida. The group and local partners have committed to sending 5000+ postcards. Funding originally budgeted for postage has been redirected to ad buys to counter widespread lies and misinformation by the opposition. Gov. DeSantis and his state agencies are pulling out all the stops. $56 buys a roll of 100 stamps! Donate here.
We appreciate and value your support!
Postcards to Swing States!
It was a great night to postcard! 40 volunteers, 1000 hand-written GOTV cards to Florida voters. Thanks to everyone who dodged the raindrops last Thursday and came out to help. We loved seeing BAM members and meeting new friends! A special thanks to those who donated stamps to the cause. Thanks to our awesome partnerships with Beaches Dems, Indivisible Mandarin, Indivisible Jax Riverside, and Moms Demand Action-Jax & Beaches, we are poised to reach 5000+ Florida voters! We are in PLAAAY!
