Last Weekend for GOTV!

May 16 is Election Day

It's the last weekend to Get-Out-the-Vote! If we want to elect a Mayor and other candidates who reflect BAM's values of fairness & equity, we need to do everything we can to educate and turn out progressive voters in the time remaining. The opposition has pulled out all the stops and we need to do the same! Early voting ends on Sunday, May 14th and Election Day is Tuesday, May 16! Here are some ways to get involved this weekend:

  • VOTE and be sure all your like-minded friends have done the same. The Beaches Library is one of 19 early voting sites open 10 am - 6 pm through Sunday. Election Day is May 16th. Find your election day voting location here. If you vote by mail, click here to be sure your vote's been counted. If you or anyone you know needs more information on the candidates, find it in the 2023 BAM City Election Guide.

  • CANVASS with the Duval Dems as part of their weekend of action! The community cavass team will be in District 9 on Saturday, May 13th from 10:30 am-12:00 pm and in District 14 on Sunday, May 14th from 3:30 pm–5:00 pm. Sign up here. Equality Florida will also be canvassing for Donna Deegan on Saturday and on Election Day. Find information here. Finally, if you can't canvass with a group, canvass with your friends! Beaches Democratic Club will give you a neighborhood list and everything you need to do it. Contact Josh Hicks by email or text 850-445-1781 for info!

  • PHONE BANK Be a part of Phone-A-Palooza on Monday, Election Day Eve from 4:30 pm - 6 pm in-person or via Zoom. Help contact Dems who have not yet voted and encourage them to show up Tuesday! Find out more here.

  • TEXT BANK at 6 p.m. on the evening before Election Day with the Duval Dems and help reach out to fellow Dems and NPAs to urge them to vote! Register here.

  • SIGN WAVE for Donna and other progressive candidates at the Beaches Library this weekend and on Election Day! Contact Steve for info.

Let's bring it for an epic finish! It's time to win!

Be the First to Sign! Petition to Get

Abortion Access Referendum on Ballot in 2024

Floridians Protecting Freedom, a coalition of reproductive rights organizations, launched a petition drive this week to get a constitutional amendment protecting access to abortion on the 2024 ballot. The ballot measure will give Florida voters a chance to show their support for reproductive rights in opposition to recent legislative action effectively banning abortion in the state. Polls show more than two-thirds of state residents support access to a full range of reproductive health care. You can be among the first to sign the petition! It takes three simple steps:

  1. Download and print the form from the campaign website.

  2. Fill in your legal name, address, and date of birth using blue or black ink. Sign and date.

  3. Mail the completed form to the address on the petition: Post Office Box 4068 Sarasota, FL 34230.

You must be a registered voter in Florida to sign and can only sign the petition once. It will take nearly 1 million signed petitions to get the abortion access measure on the ballot. Be the first to support this citizen initiative and help build momentum by emailing the petition to three more friends and encouraging them to do the same! If Kansas can do it, so can Florida! If you'd like to help gather signatures at events, like the one below, or get involved with other outreach efforts in northeast Florida, contact Jax NOW.
