John Lewis Earned His Hope - Let's Hang Onto Ours

Today we're exactly six months into the Biden-Harris Administration and many of us expected to be happier than we are. After vanquishing Trump and regaining Congressional leadership, we had hopes for a saner, smarter, fairer nation to reappear faster than this.


But John Lewis and the Freedom Riders of 1960 faced more violent and entrenched opposition than we do today. And as we mark the first anniversary of his death, it's worth remembering that America has always been a work in progress, and the work never ends.


So take 5 minutes to call Senators Rubio & Scott and tell them Florida needs them to pass Biden's Infrastructure bill. Together we will find many ways to make our way out of no way.

At noon Wednesday, Mayor Curry, along with the the heads of Mayo, Baptist, Ascension, and other local healthcare leaders, will host a virtual news conference to address the recent increase in COVID-19 cases and the local vaccination rate.
