Join us Thursday, July 8, for our first BAM meeting at Adele Grage in 16 months! It's been far too long since we saw either other's faces and traded stories in person.
In our recent member survey, many people expressed eagerness to work more closely with other progressive groups in 2021. We've invited several like-minded groups to join us - so in addition to meeting and greeting fellow BAM members you've not seen in months, this should be a chance to make new friends and learn more about some of our partner groups.
We'll also be honoring the woman who brought all of us together in the first place. Althea Lachicotte, founder and longtime leader of BAM, is starting a new business you'll want to hear about. As she shifts focus she'll remain a member of BAM but is passing the leadership torch to others. Next week's gathering gives us a chance to thank her for creating BAM and giving all of us the chance to meet each other and work together for the values we share. You'll have opportunities at the meeting to speak to Althea directly and to add your written thanks to a gift for her. If you want a chance to offer public comments or memories, please let us know in advance.
We plan to follow CDC guidelines for this event: Anyone who's vaccinated is welcome to leave their mask at home - or to wear one if they prefer. Anyone who has not been vaccinated should wear a mask for their own protection. We'll have chairs (and bug spray) outside for anyone who's more comfortable outside than in. BAM's Board will be providing some Covid-safe snacks and we hope everyone attending will bring their own beverages.
To contribute to the Beaches community while we're celebrating, please also bring a donation for BEAM's back to school give-away. They need new or lightly used clothing and school supplies for pre-schoolers through high school. Click here for more info.
Finally, please RSVP so we know roughly how many to expect.
Please forward this to anyone you think might be interested! And plan to bring a friend.
