Wednesday - Join the BAM Text Bank
Join a growing BAM texting team this Wednesday night at 6 p.m for an hour of socializing and reaching out to Duval voters. The texting platform Spoke-Rewired makes it easy to text 500-1000 Duval Dems in an hour. The work is done via computer rather than your phone. The technology is easy to learn and the company is excellent. If interested, email Jane Kosut cairns03@gmail.com for details.
Thursday - Neptune Beach Candidate Forum
This Thursday night, July 30, Beaches Watch is hosting a candidate forum for the Neptune Beach candidates on the primary election ballot. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the public can join the forum via computer or tablet using the Zoom platform, or they can listen to the forum via phone. For more details on how to join the forum, visit www.BeachesWatch.com/event/2020NBPrimaryForum. Saturday Morning Phone Bank Every Saturday between now and October 31 Hanna Moore is hosting a group Zoom where people laugh, trade tips, and (tho it's muted most of the time) get advice when they need it - and use another handy online tool to call Democrats in Duval and urge them to Vote by Mail. If you've never done it before, use this link to sign into the phoning tool: https://www.openvpb.com/vpb_bycode/2E0104A-656134 and come at 10 am for training. If you're an old pro, join the call at 10:30 for an hour. This Zoom link will always take you there: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84132869515?pwd=K2RjaG5qdEZEb056N2kzNFJvOEVrUT09 Meeting ID: 841 3286 9515 Password: JAX Join the Duval Voter Protection Team! BAM members have worked hard over the past 3 years to increase progressive turn-out in our elections. One key element in that work has been signing people up for Vote-by-Mail ballots. Now we have a chance to play a part in making sure all our votes are counted. The Duval Dems are looking for two kinds of election volunteers: We need Poll Watchers to insure everyone is treated fairly at the polls during early voting and on election day. This involves being present at our local polling places for stints of 4 to 10 hours. People sheltering at home to avoid Covid-19 can also contribute - by becoming Vote By Mail Advocates - to help people whose Vote-by-Mail ballots have been rejected "cure" the problem that has held up their vote and get it counted. Both activities require training online that takes 1.5-2 hours. This is critical work. If you can help, use the volunteer button in the attached email below. If all of the above sound like too much, try these simple things: 1. VOTE in the August primary - and be sure at least 3 friends do, too. 2. Go to BAM's Facebook page. Like it. And share it with your network. 3. Pick one candidate whose victory you want to celebrate in November and write them a check, get a yard sign, or check out their website & find a volunteer action that you can do. We can win in November if we all act now.
