BAM hosted a candidate forum at its July meeting featuring progressive candidates vying for seats in the Florida House. The seven candidates shared their views on the environment, reproductive rights, access to health care, criminal justice reform, gun sense, education, voting rights, economic development and other issues. Watch the meeting here.

All of their positions align with BAM's progressive priorities. In the general election, they will face entrenched incumbents who support a conservative agenda. About half of the candidates also have primary opponents.

The impressive group represents a blue wave for Duval where for the first time in recent history, Democrats have successfully fielded a full slate of candidates for state seats.

Florida House candidates participating in the forum and now running in the November General Election include:

Joshua Hicks

District 11

Angela Nixon

District 14

Tammy Thomas

District 15

Ben Marcus

District 16

Dave Rogers

District 17
