"To everyone keeping up the fight, you are...the reason I know we are going to bring our country closer to realizing its great promise. But to do it, we'll need to work, organize, and vote like never before, because we need more than a victory on November 3rd. We need a mandate that proves that the past few years do not represent who we are or who we aspire to be." - Kamala Harris

Set-back For Measure 4 and Returning Citizens
As most people reading this already know, last week the US Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit gave its seal of approval to the Florida legislature's modification of Measure 4: In order to vote, ex-felons will be required to pay all outstanding fees and fines. Though we'll learn more about the continuing fight at our October BAM meeting, for now the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition is redoubling its efforts to raise money to pay these back fines - to the extent the state of Florida can determine what they are. Phone-Banking & Lit Dropping - Priority #1
According to our friends at the First Coast Coalition, the most vital volunteer tasks in Duval County right now are phoning voters and delivering materials to their doors. Through phone banking and/or lit drops you can help individual candidates get information about themselves to voters and serve our shared larger goal of making sure progressive voters get out and VOTE. From now through October, there will be lit drop "Days of Action" across Duval. Just like the canvassing we did in January and February, these are shared events that need people willing to mask up and go door to door. Find upcoming events here and join in this essential work. And in addition to our weekly phone banks on Saturday & Sunday, consider these daily phone banks hosted by Duval Dems and promoting Vote by Mail.

Write Our Senators
It can be discouraging writing elected representatives who so often disagree with us, but they need reminders of the people they represent. This week the full Senate will vote on the President's latest nominee to the Federal Reserve. Judy Shelton is a controversial choice with unorthodox economic views including an enthusiasm for a return to the gold standard. In a time of heightened economic concern, she is a potentially dangerous choice. Learn more here and write Senators Rubio & Scott.
