GOTV Summit Virtual Kick-Off Featuring Steve Phillips

You’re invited to participate virtually in the kick off of Joyful Resistance: Together, We Win! GOTV Summit in Jacksonville, Florida featuring Steve Phillips, political leader, commentator, civil rights attorney and author. In his latest book, How We Win the Civil War, Phillips warns the Confederates never stopped fighting the Civil War, that conservatives are taking full advantage of this reality, and that those in denial imperil our democracy. He charts the way forward arguing that progressives must recognize the true nature of the fight we’re in—an existential battle between those who wish to make America a multiracial democracy and those clinging to the concept that this is fundamentally a white nation. Phillips will set the stage for the work of the summit: strategizing on how best to reach and motivate key voting groups, including Blacks & Hispanics, young people, and voters who support Florida’s ballot initiatives protecting access to abortion and legalizing marijuana. These voters are critical to winning in 2024! The summit is hosted by Beaches Activists Movement, Indivisible Mandarin and Indivisible Jax Riverside, in partnership with the Northside Coalition of Jacksonville, Florida for All, and Floridians for Democracy.
